Associate Professor Sun Yinggang chaired the column of “Cultural Amalgamation and Identity Construction in East Asia” inThe Fudan Journal of the Humanities and Social Sciences

 

   Associate Professor Dr.Sun Yinggang recently chaired the column of “Cultural Amalgamation and Identity Construction in East Asia” in The Fudan Journal of the Humanities and Social Sciences, vol. 8, no. 1, March 2015. The column includes three articles: Norman Harry Rothschild “Why is it Necessary for Naked Savages to Drum and Dance?Early Tang Imperial Responses to Sogdian Hibernal Festival”; Lin Peiying “Cross-national Buddhism and Identity Construction in Ch’oe Ch’iwŏn’s 'Four Mountains Stele'”; Rostislav BerezkinFudan University“Pictorail Versions of the Mulian Story in East Asia (Tenth-Seventeenth Centuries): On the Connections of Religious Painting and Storytelling”.

  Dr. Sun points out that this special issue includes three papers and aims to examine cultural amalgamation and identity construction in pre-mordern East Asia.
