Special-Appointment Professor of the Institute of Chinese Historical Geography, Fudan University, member of the Special Committee on Historical Geography of the China Geographical Society, and editor-in-chief of the journal Historical Geography. Specializes in the study of the political and cultural dimensions of historical geography, the history of language contact between East and West and the history of cultural exchange between China and other countries.
