BA and MA, Taiwan University, and PhD, University of Hawaii. Fellow of the Research Institute of History and Philology, and concurrently professor of the Department of History, Taiwan University. Specializes in the study of the history of the Qin and Han Dynasties and the history of the Roman Empire. Publications include: History of Qin and Han: a Tentative Study, Supplements to the Collection of Han Dynasty Inscribed Bamboo Strips of Juyan ( co-ed. ), A Catalogue of the Rubbings of Han Dynasty Portraits Carved on Stone in the Collection of the Research Institute of History and Philology, Academia Sinica ( co-ed. ), etc.
