Postdoctoral Recruitment for Autumn 2007

1. Introduction
Inaugurated on March 10, 2007, National Institute for Advanced Humanistic Studies at Fudan University is a base for original and innovative work in philosophy and social science set up as part of Project 985 ( Phase Ⅱ) by the Ministry of Education. As a platform for research in Chinese literature, history and philosophy, the institute will work hard to promote interflow and interfusion of different disciplines in arts and letters, history and philosophy, to help advance the study of Chinese culture with a world perspective and to engage actively in the collection, compilation and emendation of all kinds of newly-discovered texts and data in order to make itself an academic institution for promoting the study of humanities in China that is open and has an international outlook.

The institute will also assume the role of training scholars at a high level. Already facilities are made ready to accept scholars at the postdoctoral level who can come and do relevant research. Specifically, research on 1.cross-area historical studies on East Asia, and 2.Chinese art, intellectual and cultural history will be in our highest interest.

2. Research Directions and Tutors
1. Literature from Han to Tang period, Professor Chen Shangjun;
2. History of Confucian classics and historiography, Professor Zhu Weizheng;
3. Intellectual history and cultural history, Professor Ge Zhaoguang;
4. Historical and literary criticism of China, Professor Wang Yonghao.

3. Regulations
Affairs regarding application, recruitment, management and logistic provisions will be dealt with according to “Prospectus for Recruitment of Postdoctoral Fellows in Fudan University

4. Deadline
Application materials should be sent before October 10th, 2007 for the Autumn recruitment, those received after this date, may enter the 2008 Spring enrollment process.
