Announcement for the Recruitment of Postdoctoral Researchers at the National Institute for Advanced Humanistic Studies, Fudan University, Shanghai, for the Second Half of 2024

Introduction to the Postdoctoral Workstation of the National Institute for Advanced Humanistic Studies

The National Institute for Advanced Humanistic Studies (NIAHS) at Fudan University was established on March 10, 2007. As an international and open academic platform for the research of Chinese literature, history, and philosophy, the NIAHS is dedicated to fostering interdisciplinary communication and integration among these fields. It also strives to promote the study of Chinese culture from a global perspective and emphasizes the collation of new documents and materials. The institute is committed to cultivating high-level talent and welcomes young scholars from both domestic and international backgrounds to continue their research.


Postdoctoral Application Qualifications

Outstanding young scholars who have obtained a PhD degree in China or abroad, with excellent academic performance, good health, and within three years of their PhD graduation, are eligible to apply. Generally, applicants should be under 35 years of age.


Postdoctoral Application and Acceptance

(a) Applicants need to provide the following materials in either hard copy or electronic format:

-A personal resume.

-A copy of the PhD diploma or other relevant valid documents (recent graduates may submit an application form first, and then provide proof of thesis defense or a copy of the PhD diploma after their defense).

-A full copy of the PhD dissertation.

-A list of papers published during the master's and PhD periods.

-A research proposal and plan for the postdoctoral period.


(b) Review and acceptance:

Reviews are conducted every May and December.

The expert group of the workstation will evaluate the applicant's political ideology, research capability, academic level, and research achievements based on the submitted materials. Interviews or other forms of assessment may be conducted if necessary.


Once approved, the applicant will proceed with the postdoctoral admission process.


After completing all procedures, the application will be submitted to the university's postdoctoral office, which will issue the official acceptance letter.


Benefits and Compensation


The institute provides excellent research conditions for postdoctoral researchers. The salary will follow national and Fudan University standards. Postdoctoral researchers are encouraged to apply for various research and talent projects. Household registration, postdoctoral housing, and children's schooling will follow the university's relevant policies.
