The Department of History at Fudan University (admissions for the National Institute for Advanced Humanistic Studies are carried out via the Department of History) will implement an "Application-Evaluation" process for 2025 PhD student admissions. Selection will be conducted based on the program's disciplines, research fields, or groups. The specific requirements and details are as follows:
I. Organizational Management
The Graduate Admissions Leadership Group of the Department of History (including the National Institute for Advanced Humanistic Studies, hereafter referred to collectively as "the Department") is responsible for organizing and implementing the PhD admissions process and making major decisions collectively. The Graduate Admissions Task Team is in charge of execution, with professional teachers forming an expert panel to conduct comprehensive evaluations of applicants. The Graduate Admissions Supervision Team oversees the entire process.
II. Application Requirements
1. Eligibility
1. Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the 2025 Fudan University Regulations for PhD Admissions. When applying, candidates only need to select a discipline and research field but should not specify a supervisor.
2. Applicants for the general entrance exam must meet at least one of the following foreign language requirements:
o English: College English Test (CET) Band 4 ≥ 570, or CET Band 6 ≥ 440, or TOEFL ≥ 75, or IELTS Academic ≥ 6.0.
o Japanese: Level 4 of the Japanese major exam ≥ 70 points, or JLPT N2 certificate.
o French: Level 4 of the French major exam ≥ 70 points, or DELF B1 certificate.
o German: Level 4 of the German major exam ≥ 70 points, or Goethe-Zertifikat B1.
o Equivalent proof of foreign language proficiency, subject to review and approval by the Graduate Admissions Leadership Group.
2. Required Application Materials
Applications must be submitted between December 1 and December 31, 2024, via Fudan University’s Graduate Admissions website (https://gsao.fudan.edu.cn, hereafter "University Admissions Portal"). Any changes to the deadline will be announced in advance on the portal.
Applicants must fill out or upload the following materials:
1. A valid ID.
2. PhD application form.
3. A self-statement (approximately 3,000 Chinese characters) detailing personal education and work experience since high school (uninterrupted), research achievements, a summary of the master’s thesis and its innovative points, reasons for application, career plans, self-evaluation, and understanding of the chosen discipline.
4. Academic transcripts from all stages of higher education (certified by the institution).
5. Master’s thesis (for graduates) or a summary of the thesis (for current students).
6. Two academic research papers (published or unpublished, but must be sole-authored).
7. A 3,000-character PhD research proposal (written in Chinese).
8. Scanned copies or photocopies of certificates, diplomas, awards, language proficiency proof, etc.
9. Two signed recommendation letters from professors in the field. Recommenders should submit letters directly via the system; no paper copies are needed.
10. Current master’s students must provide proof of enrollment stamped by their department. Applicants with foreign degrees must provide certification from the Ministry of Education’s Service Center for Scholarly Exchange.
11. Applicants applying for employer-sponsored enrollment must submit proof of employment and consent to apply, issued by their organization.
Note: Candidates applying under equivalent academic qualifications do not need to submit item (5) but must provide other materials as required by the university's admissions regulations.
3. Submission Requirements for Application Materials
In addition to online submission, applicants must mail or deliver hard copies of their materials (excluding recommendation letters) by January 5, 2025, to the following addresses:

Requirements:
· Materials must be clear, authentic, and complete, organized in the specified order: application form, ID copy, self-statement, transcripts, research achievements, research proposal, certificates, etc.
· Materials should be printed or photocopied on A4 paper, organized in a transparent folder, and mailed via SF Express (local candidates in Shanghai cannot use same-city delivery services). Materials will not be returned, so applicants should keep copies for themselves.
III. Preliminary Review
1. Applicants who complete online registration and submit materials on time will enter the preliminary review phase, scheduled for mid-February 2025.
2. The review will check ID, academic records, and language proficiency. Those who fail will not proceed.
3. Materials will be reviewed by six groups based on disciplines and research fields.
IV. Final Evaluation
1. The evaluation consists of an interview for the Department of History and a written exam plus an interview for the Institute. These are planned for mid-March 2025.
V. Admission Decisions
Final rankings are based on the combined scores from the materials review (20%) and final evaluation (80%). Admissions will adhere to the principles of merit-based selection and quality assurance.

复旦大学历史学系(文史研究院依托历史学系招生)2025年博士生招生实行“申请-考核”制,按照招生专业、研究方向或方向组进行选拔。现将具体要求和有关事项公布如下:
一、组织管理
历史学系(含文史研究院,以下统称本系)研究生招生工作领导小组负责本系博士生招生工作的组织实施,对重大事项进行集体决策,由研究生招生工作小组负责具体执行。选派专业教师组成考核专家组,对考生进行全面考查。研究生招生纪检小组全过程监督。
1.申请条件
(1)考生应符合《复旦大学2025年招收攻读博士学位研究生章程》规定的报考条件。报名时只选择专业和研究方向,不填报具体导师。
(2)普通招考考生的外语水平应符合以下条件中的一项:
①英语:大学英语四级不低于570分,或六级不低于440分,或托福不低于75分,或雅思学术类不低于6.0分;
②日语:专业四级70分,或通过日语能力考试(JLPT)N2级;
③法语:专业四级70分,或通过DELF考试B1级;
④德语:专业四级70分,或通过歌德学院德语欧标B1级;
⑤能提供相当水平的外语能力证明材料,经系研究生招生工作领导小组审议后认可。
2.申请材料清单
考生应于2024年12月1日至12月31日在复旦大学研究生招生网(网址:https://gsao.fudan.edu.cn,以下简称学校研招网)“研究生报考服务系统”报名。报名截止时间如有调整,将在学校研招网提前通知。
考生报名时应填写或上传如下申请材料:
(1)有效居民身份证件;
(2)博士生报名登记表;
(3)一份3000字左右的中文自述,包括高中以来个人教育和工作经历(不得中断)、科研表现、硕士论文主要内容和创新点介绍、报考理由、未来的职业生涯规划,以及自我评价、所报考专业的认知等情况;
(4)高等教育各阶段的学习成绩单(就读单位盖章);
(5)硕士学位论文全文(往届生)或论文主要内容说明(应届生);
(6)两篇专题研究论文(不限是否发表,但要求是独著);
(7)一份3000字左右的博士研究计划书(须中文撰写);
(8)最高学历学位证书、各阶段的毕业证书、各类获奖证书、大学英语四级或六级证书或其它外语水平证明材料的扫描件或复印件;
(9)两封由考生所报专业领域内具有正高职称专家出具的签名推荐信(考生在报考服务系统中在线填写相关信息,推荐人发送邮件上传,无须下载打印,无须另行提交纸质版);
(10)应届硕士生还应提供所在院系盖章的在读证明;从境外教育机构获得学位的考生,还应提供由教育部留学服务中心出具的认证书;
(11)报考定向就业的考生还应提供由所在单位组织人事部门出具的在职和同意报考证明(原件)。
说明:以同等学力资格报考的考生不提交材料(5),但应提交学校招生章程要求的其他证明材料。
3.提交申请材料的要求
(1)考生除了在报考服务系统提交上述申请材料外,还须在2025年1月5日前将纸质申请材料(不含推荐信)寄达或直接提交到本系。

(2)申请材料应完整、真实、清晰,符合要求,按以下顺序排列提交报名登记表(原件)、身份证件复印件、中文自述、成绩单(原件)、科研成果(硕士论文相关材料、专题研究论文)、计划书、相关证书、证明等材料。若考生提交申请材料不完整、不及时,本系可不予受理。若申请材料弄虚作假,一经查实将取消报考资格,已参加考核的成绩无效。
纸质材料请统一用A4纸打印、复印(优先使用原件),按照以上顺序排列,使用抽杆透明文件夹汇总装订,统一采用顺丰快递寄送至本系,上海本地考生不可采用同城急送。纸质材料概不退还,请考生自留备份。
二、初审
1.所有在复旦大学研究生招生网完成报考程序,并将纸质申请材料寄达本系的考生,均进入初审环节(包括报考资格审查和申请材料审核),初审暂定2025年2月中旬前进行。
2.初审首先对考生的身份证件、学业水平证明及外语水平证明材料进行报考资格审查,不符合规定者不能进入申请材料审核程序。
3.材料审核工作按照招生专业、研究方向或方向组分六组进行,分别为:
(1)中国古代史及历史文献学组,计划招生11人,已招收直博生3人;
(2)中国近现代史及中国史学理论与史学史组,计划招生9人,已招收直博生1人;
(3)专门史组,计划招生2人;
(4)亚洲宗教、艺术与历史研究及中国思想文化史组,计划招生8人;
(5)世界史组,计划招生10人。
(6)人类学组,计划招生1人。
4.各组的材料审核工作分别由至少五位专任教师组成的专家组负责实施。每位专家独立审阅考生报名信息和申请材料,对其硕士课程成绩、硕士学位论文及参与科研、发表论文、出版专著、获奖情况及专家推荐意见、考生科研计划书等材料进行评价,独立评分,满分为100分。在每位专家评分的基础上计算简单平均数,得到考生的材料审核成绩。
5.在各研究方向组内,按照招生计划200%左右的比例,依考生材料审核成绩,择优确定复试名单。材料审核成绩低于60分者不能进入复试。
6.对于通过初审进入复试的考生,将通过邮件等方式通知其在指定时间参加复试考核,复试名单同时通过历史学系网站予以公布。对于未能进入复试的考生将不再专门通知。请考生及时关注报考系统信息,知晓自己的报考状态。
三、复试
1.历史学系的复试形式为面试,文史研究院的复试形式为笔试+面试,暂定2025年3月中旬进行,具体安排另行通知。
2.参加复试的考生应携带身份证件、学业水平证明及外语水平证明材料原件,在核验无误的前提下,方能进行复试,未通过核验者不能参加复试。复试原则上按初审时的分组进行。
3.各组的面试工作分别由至少五位专任教师组成的专家组负责实施。面试内容为对考生基础知识、研究能力和潜力、外国语水平及思想道德品质的综合考查。每位考生面试时间25分钟左右,其中专业综合知识考核20分钟左右,外语考核5分钟左右,全程录音录像。面试满分为100分,其中专业综合知识占80%,外语占20%。单项成绩或复试总成绩不及格者不予录取。专家组成员在对考生进行综合测评的基础上,根据其面试表现独立评分,然后计算简单平均得分得出考生的复试成绩。
4.学校研究生院和本系可根据实际情况对以上初审、复试的考核方式与内容进行调整。如有调整,将在学校研招网或历史学系网站上提前公布。
四、录取
1.本系博士生的录取工作由研究生招生工作领导小组按照考生总成绩(考生总成绩=材料审核成绩×20%+复试考核成绩×80%)进行排序,确定拟录取名单和候补名单。
2.拟录取名单经学校研究生招生工作领导小组审议通过后,由研究生院统一公示。本系向考生所在单位函调人事档案(或档案审查意见)和本人现实表现等材料,全面考查考生思想品德情况。对公示无异议者,发放录取通知书。新生于2025年秋季入学。
3.遵循“择优录取、保证质量、宁缺勿滥”招生原则,本系可根据学校实际下达招生计划和考生生源情况,对各组的招生计划进行适当调整。
五、相关说明
1.本办法适用于本系普通招考和硕博连读博士生招生。硕博连读考生应按照学校硕博连读选拔工作通知与本办法要求,在报考服务系统报名并提交现有申请材料,与普通招考考生一起考核、排序。专项计划的考生如无特别规定,参照本办法进行,单列排序。
2.本办法由历史学系负责解释,未列事项按照学校有关规定执行。
